What to Expect: The PRFCT Pigment Protocol
Clinical Skin Consultation
We evaluate your pigmentation type, severity, skin tone, and sensitivities to determine the best protocol.
Pre-Treatment Prep
You may be advised to precondition your skin with pigment suppressors or retinoids prior to your treatment.
In-Clinic Procedure
For Cosmelan:
A powerful peel is applied in-office and left on for several hours before being rinsed off at home.
For Melanostop:
The skin is numbed, a peel is applied, and the depigmentation serum is microneedled into the dermis.
Guided Aftercare
Post-treatment instructions and a take-home skincare regimen are included for optimal results and safe recovery.
Series & Maintenance
Melanostop is best done in a series of 3 spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Cosmelan may be repeated as advised by your provider.

Pre & Post Care Instructions
Before Your Appointment
- Avoid lasers, chemical peels, microneedling, waxing, or excessive sun exposure in the weeks leading up to treatment.
- Discontinue retinol, glycolic acid, and hydroquinone products as directed prior to starting Cosmelan MD.
- Inform your provider if you are pregnant, nursing, prone to cold sores, rosacea, or recently received Botox, filler, or a COVID vaccine.
After Your Treatment
- Follow the full 3-month home care protocol exactly as directed, including Cosmelan 2, Melan Recovery Cream, and daily SPF use.
- Avoid sun exposure, heat, sweating, swimming, makeup, and additional skin treatments during the initial recovery period.
- Do not use retinols, acids, hydroquinone, or other active products unless specifically instructed by your provider.
