Clear, Confident Skin With Physician-Led Long Pulse YAG

At PRFCT in La Jolla, our Long Pulse Nd:YAG laser precisely targets visible facial and leg veins while protecting the surrounding skin. Using advanced technology, evidence-based settings, and integrated cooling for comfort, we create a customized treatment plan tailored to your skin tone, vessel type, and aesthetic goals, delivering refined, natural-looking clarity with minimal downtime.

What Is Long Pulse Nd:YAG Vein Treatment?

Long Pulse Nd:YAG uses a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by hemoglobin within visible veins. When the laser energy is absorbed, it heats and coagulates the targeted vessels, causing them to collapse. Over time, the body naturally breaks down and clears the treated veins. This non-invasive approach is quick, precise, and designed with minimal downtime when performed by trained providers.

The PRFCT Process

Here is what to expect before, during, and after your appointment:
1

In-Depth Consultation

We assess skin tone, vessel pattern, medical history, and candidacy. You receive clear prep and aftercare instructions.

2

Comfort And Precision

Cooling and technique help maintain comfort. Settings are adjusted to the vessel’s size, depth, and your skin type.

3

Treatment Day

Pulses of light trace the vessel path. Small facial veins may take minutes; leg sessions vary by coverage.

4

Early Changes

Temporary redness or swelling is common. Facial veins often look darker before they fade. Leg veins may resemble a “cat-scratch” mark as they resolve.

5

Results And Rhythm

Facial veins typically settle in 3 to 6 weeks; leg veins often need 8 to 12 weeks to show full change. Many clients need 1 to 2 sessions.

Pre + Post Treatment Instructions

  • Avoid tanning beds and self-tanners for 3 weeks and minimize sun exposure.
  • Tell your provider if you are prone to cold sores; a preventative prescription may be recommended.
  • Expect that 1–2 sessions may be needed.

After Your Treatment:

  • Do not exercise for 3 days after treatment.

  • Avoid hot showers or baths, hot tubs, and saunas for 5 days.
  • Avoid sun exposure and wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ for 1 month on treated areas.
  • Use cold compresses to reduce redness and swelling; do not apply ice directly to skin.
  • Gently cleanse the area twice daily with tepid water and mild cleanser.
  • If leg veins were treated, wear Class II, 30–40 mmHg compression stockings as much as possible for 1 week.
*Contact the office promptly if you experience persistent pain or blistering.
