- Plan your schedule accordingly. Swelling and tenderness can last up to 1 week, so allow for social downtime after treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
Follow these steps for optimal recovery:
- Apply an ice pack wrapped in a thin towel for 15 minutes every hour during the first 12 hours.
- Do not massage, press, or rub the treated area unless instructed by your provider.
- Sleep with your head elevated on 2–3 pillows after chin or submental treatments to reduce swelling.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and excessive heat exposure for at least 24 hours.
- Expect temporary swelling, firmness, numbness, redness, or tenderness for 5–14 days as the fat dissolves.
