Dr. Zoe's Notes on How to Use

This is the forgiving one. A gradual formula develops so slowly that mistakes have time to blend, which makes it the place to start if you have never self-tanned or have been burned by it before.

Treat it as your body lotion rather than as a tanning step. Apply to clean, dry skin, go lighter over knees, elbows and ankles, and wash your hands straight after. There is no tinted guide in this one, so pay attention to your coverage as you go.

It is also how you hold a tan you already have. Using it daily after the mousse keeps the color from patching as skin sheds.

One caution. This is the most heavily fragranced product in the line, and the ingredient list declares eight of the fragrance compounds most often responsible for contact reactions, including linalool, limonene and coumarin. If scented body products have ever bothered your skin, patch test on the inner forearm and wait a day before you use it head to toe.

It offers no sun protection. Sunscreen still applies.
