Spray it on, rub it in. It absorbs fast enough that you can dress almost immediately, which is why this is the one that lives in a bag rather than on a bathroom shelf.
If you are layering, lotion first and roll-on second. The lotion gives the scent something to hold onto; the roll-on carries it.
