When we first dreamed up THE PRFCT MAHJ, we envisioned a beautiful evening where women could slow down, learn something new, and enjoy time together.
We expected Mahjong.
What we didn't expect was everything that happened around the Mahjong table.
As the evening unfolded, something remarkable happened. Complete strangers introduced themselves, exchanged stories, laughed over missed tiles, celebrated small victories, and offered encouragement to women they had only met moments before. Longtime clients sat beside first-time visitors. Conversations flowed effortlessly between generations, careers, and life experiences.
Some women came because they already loved Mahjong. Others had never touched a tile before.
By the end of the night, it almost didn't matter.
The game became an excuse for something much bigger.
It became a reminder that meaningful connection is one of the most powerful forms of wellness.
Wellness Has Never Been Just About Skin
People often think of PRFCT as a place for injectables, lasers, facials, or skincare.
And while we absolutely love helping people look refreshed and confident, those treatments have never been the whole story.
Every day in our treatment rooms, conversations naturally evolve beyond skin.
A microneedling appointment somehow becomes a discussion about sleep.
A Botox visit turns into a conversation about stress, energy, or changing hormones.
Someone comes in worried about wrinkles, but what they're really struggling with is feeling unlike themselves.
We've learned that confidence rarely begins at the surface.
Looking your best often starts with feeling your best.
That belief is what inspired us to expand PRFCT beyond aesthetics and create HER Wellness, led by Dr. Valerie Gafori.
Because women deserve a place where they can talk about the things that aren't always easy to bring up elsewhere.
Hormones. Metabolism. Weight changes. Low energy. Brain fog. Preventative health. Genetic cancer risk.
The goal isn't simply to treat symptoms. It's to help women feel balanced, energized, healthy, and supported through every stage of life.
When those pieces come together, confidence follows naturally.
Why Community Matters More Than We Realize
There's an abundance of research showing that strong social connection is associated with better overall health, lower stress levels, improved emotional well-being, and even increased longevity.
But statistics only tell part of the story.
Sometimes you don't appreciate the value of community until you experience it firsthand.
Watching women encourage each other over Mahjong tiles reminded us how healing it can be simply to spend an afternoon laughing together.
No phones. No rushing. No pressure. Just genuine conversation.
In a world where so much of our communication happens through screens, creating opportunities to gather in person feels more important than ever.
We all need places where we can simply be human together.
Building Something Bigger Than a Medical Practice
From the beginning, PRFCT has never been just about appointments.
We've always wanted to create a place where people feel welcome, where they enjoy coming, and where relationships naturally grow over time.
That vision continues to expand.
Sometimes it looks like helping someone develop healthier skin.
Sometimes it means optimizing hormones through HER Wellness.
Sometimes it's introducing someone to a skincare routine they'll love.
And sometimes...
It's simply gathering around a Mahjong table.
Every one of those moments contributes to the same mission:

A Community That Gives Back
One of the most meaningful parts of our inaugural THE PRFCT MAHJ event was the opportunity to support something bigger than ourselves.
A portion of the proceeds benefited Humble Design San Diego, an incredible nonprofit that transforms empty houses into fully furnished homes for families transitioning out of homelessness.
Their work is built on the belief that everyone deserves a fresh start and a place that truly feels like home—a mission we were proud to support.
The afternoon was also made even more memorable thanks to refreshments from our friends at Bebemos, a locally founded La Jolla tequila company.
We love celebrating businesses that are building thoughtful, community-centered brands right here in our own backyard.

One unexpected outcome of the event?
